“Alive
and Free” By Teebra Woods My
mind is like the rolling hills fields
of green trees bees and seeds flowers
and powers moon
light rainbows singing
birds sleepy
clouds morning
dew running
squirrels funny
nothing of cites nor
of concrete no
micro chip logic just
life simply
to be alive and free |

“Buy
One Get One Free” by Teebra Woods There
are the dreamers who embrace life with the faith of hope inventors
turn visions into reality with endless effort and gamble the
middle man just walks in and sells
it to somebody they
put it into a plastic box a
company buys 1,000,000 units sends
it to a
store there
it waits under a spot light with glitter then
you see the dream on TV life
will be better if you could
only afford it you
reach in pay for it with
money you pay to barrow tax
man takes his you
get home open it but
it doesn't quite give you what you're looking for

"Speak
of these trees" by Teebra Woods a
forest of thoughts trees
bend into outlines reminiscent of
past love no
human voice but mine own the
noise of silent woods blaze
my ears with wonder my
house had been weathered away in the dead of night nothing
left but twisted branches in familiar
shapes almost
a skeleton of the place where my house once stood the
forest moves swiftly over
grown with green in
fact all of my worldly possessions and inventions had
all been consumed by the plants the
only reminder of my things were
twigs shaped into images that
sparked memories of what once was never
had I anticipated the details of
this prison unable
to realize the trap I
moved on chasing more lies they
fly as fast as my thoughts seemly
always one step ahead the
images are never sure never
lasting longer than a tease this
time the doors where all closed the
is no escape from this forest and
soon I would grow tired and
the trees will consume me leaving
a mark a
branch in
the shape of me |

“One More Fight” by Teebra Woods Impossible to resign wanting rhyme for dance circulates a directive dominates infiltrates my skull bone rock for all ages pages multi-flavored always savored grasping tasking breath of life so cometh night steady my sword ready my ward time click tocks on slipping away in song

"Desert" by Teebra Woods deluded
stream once
of clarity runs with shadowed will entrusted
team hands
in their pocket owners of the battered mill all
smiles and winks staring
into your darkest thought they
burn the forest down dreams
sold and bought weary
bewildered and sickened as
they poison my wake all
that will be left is a desert there
will be no more to take

|
"Bridge" by Teebra Woods the
bridge was broken although
put from strength and pride relentlessness
of the daily tide jurisdiction
of water has spoken weakening
and eroding away accomplishments
of past day stand with the package of hope
in hand look
at the ideal as
true as a movie reel customarily
forgotten accounts about this home land then
without a peep knowing I tried to
see this great presentation as intended remembering
all that have been befriended rush
on with a leap soaring to the other side

"Bet"
by Teebra Woods a
twisted ladder, on
the brink the
crooked eye, is
the link mindless
visions, timeless
smile teach
my eye, a
mental while such
wisdom known, truth
stand fast tall millions
reached, but
billions none at all I
lay in paradise, with
such regret the
time was lost, on
a miss placed free bet.
